The iFlight Nazgul5 is an exceptional quad. It is a ready-made 5″ drone that you can bind and fly. iFlight is a company known for making quality drones and the Nazgul5 is one of the best 5″ freestyle drones I’ve ever flown. If you are looking for a good BNF 5″ FPV drone then this is a good place to start.
iFlight Nazgul5 V2 XL5V5
If you are looking for a really good BNF (Bind and Fly) 5″ drone the place I’d start is the Nazgul5 V2. It is an exceptional quad and there are four different versions. You can get an analog or DJI HD digital version of the drone in either a 4S or 6S configuration. I opted for the 4S analog version. I love DJI HD digital FPV but I know that not everyone can afford the HD version so I thought I’d go back to the roots.
The Nazgul5 V2 is built on the SucceX-E F4 45A stack. It gets its power from Xing-E 2207, 2750 KV motors. These powerful motors are pushing 5140 5″ props but you can swap them out for 5.1″ propellers if you choose. It is 240mm from motor to motor and weighs about 390 grams. The camera is a Caddx Ratel with a 2.1mm lens. It uses the SucceX Force 5.8g VTZ that is switchable from pit/25/200/400/800mW. The picture quality is very good and the signal is excellent when flying on 800mW.
The Nazgul5 is a very sturdy drone and the 3K carbon fiber frame is good and stiff. However, if you were to break an arm they are easily replaceable and can swap them out by removing only one screw. I opted for the R-XSR receiver but there are multiple different options. It paired quickly and easily to my Radiomaster TX16S.
iFlight added some nice touches with some neon TPU bumpers and accent pieces. There are even LEDs that light up the iFlight logo on the bottom. iFlight included plenty of extra hardware, stickers, and even an extra set of props. They didn’t include a mount for your GoPro or Insta360 GO, however.
Should you buy the Nazgul 5 V2?
If you are looking for a good 5″ quad then it is hard to look past the Nazgul5 V2. You’d be hard-pressed to get another BNF quad of this quality for around $200 and it would be a chore to build one of similar quality. Plus iFlight has gone ahead and even tuned it for you.
