Hubsan H501M: Hubsan Upgrades Their GPS Quad with Waypoints

The Hubsan H501 X4 series of drones is arguably Hubsan’s second most successful line of drones after their H107 lineup. The H501S and H501A are both impressive brushless-motor GPS quadcopters that feature GPS and HD cameras. The new H501M adds waypoint flying and an bluetooth controller.

Hubsan H501M Features

The Hubsan H501M has an impressive list of features. It boasts a 20 minute flight time. The GPS adds stability as does altitude hold. You’ll get a handful of flight modes including orbit, follow me, headless mode and return to home.

The camera on the H501M is a 720p camera that you can view live on your smartphone via an app. The drone can be controlled via the app or the included remote. The remote is smaller than the H501S High Edition Remote and is more like a gaming remote with a holder for your smartphone.

While pricing hasn’t been released for the H501M yet, Geekbuying has it listed at $119.00. That would be a great deal for a brushless-motor GPS drone that comes with an HD camera. We’ll hold off complete judgment until we can get our hands on one, but the initial specs look promising.

Alternative Brushless Options

If you are looking for an inexpensive brushless GPS drone that you can buy today we’d recommend you take a look at the BMJX Bugs 2W. It is very similar to the H501 from Hubsan. If you are looking for a really good GPS drone then we’d recommend taking a look at the DJI Spark. It is an impressive machine in a compact form.
