The HS720G is a beginner drone from Holy Stone. It features a 4K camera on a two-axis gimbal with a handful of intelligent flight modes. It comes from Holy Stone, one of the largest sellers of drones on Amazon. At $289 it is a little cheaper than the DJI Mini SE but more expensive than similar drones like the MJX Bugs 16 or Flyhal FX1. How does the HS 720G stack up against these drones? Holy Stone HS720G
The HS 720 was one of the best-selling drones on Amazon. The HS720G adds a two-axis gimbal to the electronically stabilized footage. The video on this is pretty smooth but isn’t on par with drones like the DJI Mini or Mini SE. It is comparable to the top MJX drones like the Bugs 16 Pro. In fact this drone is built using MJX technology for Holy Stone. While it is a little more expensive than the Bugs 16 you’ll get the backing of Holy Stone. Holy Stone is known for solid customer service, plus if you have Amazon Prime you’ll get this drone in a day or two.
The HS 720G has a follow me mode as well as orbit and return to home. Holy Stone adds a nice carrying case with the drone and it and the remote fold up nicely for easy storage and portability. You can get flight times of up to 26 minutes and a range of up to 1000 meters. In real conditions, you can expect about 50-75% of those numbers.
Overall the Holy Stone HS720G is a good beginner drone. It is on par with the MJX and Flyhal options but falls short when compared to the DJI Mini SE. At $289 it is a bit overpriced in my opinion. I’d spend the extra $10 and get the far superior DJI Mini SE. The Mini SE has a better camera, longer flight time, and more range.
