Flying FPV can be a blast. Flying from the cockpit of a drone is an experience unlike any other. However, it is not easy. Being able to manage the throttle and altitude of a drone is the most challenging part of flying a typical FPV drone. Hisingy made that easier by adding altitude hold, a feature that works with a barometer to help the drone maintain a consistent altitude. This feature isn’t typically on small FPV drones but can be found on more expensive models like the DJI Avata.
Another issue that beginners have is making sure all of the components are compatible and work together. Hisingy took care of that by sourcing good components like their goggles, which were built by Fatshark.
Another hurdle pilots face is getting things set up and tuned properly. Hisingy has done all of that so you don’t have to. They even have an engineer dedicated to making the drone better and use firmware updates to push the improvements to the drone.
Typical FPV pilots have to rely on Betaflight for setup and tuning. Betaflight is an excellent tool and can be used to alter how your drone flies but there is a learning curve involved in understanding how it works. Hisingy bypasses this hurdle by using an intuitive app to allow the pilot to adjust how their drone flys. You can connect the Stargazer to your phone using Bluetooth and tap to adjust. It is simple and easy. Hisingy even awards performance points for flights that you can use to make your drone fly even better. It is like a real-life video game.
Overall Hisingy has done a nice job by creating an all-in-one FPV kit that is easy to use for beginners. Purist FPV pilots probably won’t like the ease of the altitude hold or the simplicity of the tuning app but a new pilot will love it.
