DJI has released some details about upgrades to their drone lineup. Today you’ll get the option to order the new Mavic Pro Platinum or Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian. DJI also announced a new “Sphere” panorama mode for the Spark. Wondering what all this means? Let’s dive in.
DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
The biggest upgrade is to the Mavic. The new Mavic Platinum Pro has three major differences from the original Mavic. The new Mavic Platinum now has a 30 minute flight time, is 60% quieter, and it comes with a new platinum paint job. Learn more here.
DJI Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian
The Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian sports a sharp-looking new color. If you weren’t a big fan of the plain white Phantom 4 you now have another color option. It is the same spectacular machine under the hood. This is simply a color option. Learn more here.
DJI Spark “Sphere” Panorama
The new DJI Spark Sphere Panorama is a new and unique way to share a panoramic photo. You’ll be able to capture a large interactive fisheye lens photo that you can share directly to social media. It will be similar to when we put an LG360 Cam on our Spark and got full 360-degree video. This will be cool, but since the Spark can’t look up the image will have a “hole” in it over the drone. When you are high in the air you won’t care too much about seeing the middle of the sky anayway, most of the interesting stuff is below you. Learn more here.
