The Eachine E52 is another drone in the growing category of small, portable, inexpensive, selfie drones. It reminds us a lot of the most popular one the Elfie. The E52 outshines the Elfie in a couple of different categories, however.
E52 Features
The E52 is small, about the size of a smartphone. It can easily fit into your pocket, which is the idea with a small foldable selfie drone. It packs a handful of useful features in its small form factor. The E52 boasts altitude hold, headless mode, auto-takeoff, and auto-landing. It can also perform flips with the push of a button. The E52 has a 0.3 MP camera and can stream a live video feed in realtime to your smartphone via a WiFi connection.
You can fly the E52 using the included remote, or you can opt to fly it with just your smartphone. The well-designed app that you use to control the E52 is intuitive to use. The live video feed will be displayed on the screen as you fly and you can record both pictures and video directly to your smartphone.

Flying with your smartphone is convenient but it is more difficult to control the drone. Using the included remote makes it easier to handle and extends the range of the drone a bit.
The FPV feed is good for monitoring your drone in real time, but the 0.3 MP camera is a little disappointing. It will take decent pictures outdoors and in good lighting, but it is not HD quality. You’ll have to spend a little more money in order to get a camera on a drone that can take good quality photos and video. Check this article out for some of our suggestions of small portable drones with excellent cameras.
E52 vs Other Selfie Drones
The E52 is similar to the most popular inexpensive selfie drone, the Elfie. The E52 is a little more stable and the physical remote makes it easier to fly. We like the styling of the E52 a little more and it seems to be a little more robust. The camera on both drones is a disappointing 0.3MP. If you are looking for something similar then check out the Eachine E50. The E50 has a much improved 2MP camera and has similar features.
