Eachine E010C: Is This the Best Beginner FPV Drone Today?

The more we fly the E010C, the more we love it. It is our favorite indoor FPV drone. It is lighter, more durable and more inexpensive than the Inductrix FPV.  It is hard to beat this drone in general, and when you factor in the price, it is hard not to own a couple of these machines.

The Eachine E010 is one of our favorite drones. It is fun, fast and affordable. The ducted propellers keep the drone quiet and shield the propellers from obstacles in its way. The E010 essentially is the indoor drone version of a bumper car. A lot of people like to convert this drone into a small Tiny Whoop-like first person view (FPV) drone by adding a camera. You spend $25 on the drone and another $25 on the camera. Then you pick the FPV goggles of your choice, add a little DIY elbow grease and you have yourself a fun indoor FPV machine. Now you don’t have to build it yourself. You can pick up an E010C. It’s the drone with the FPV camera.

Prior to the Eachine E010C your ready-to-go options were limited. You could pick up an Inductrix FPV for about $200 or even a ready-to-go MakerFire Micro for around $65. Those were your best options, but now you can get an Eachine E010C for $37. Yes, for less than $40 you get an E010 with a tiny FPV camera already attached. You can’t even build that for $40!

The Eachine E010C is a simple machine. You’ll get the standard E010, an FPV 800TVL 40CH 25MW CMOS camera and some double sided sticky tape foam to attach it to the board. That might not be the best way to attach the camera, but it is light and effective. We are designing a 3D printed mount that will work much better. The camera is the most noticeable upgrade, but the 150mAh 45C battery is also an upgrade over the standard E010.

There are few limitations to the E010C. The transmitter range is limited at 30 meters, but this drone is best suited to indoor flying, so that shouldn’t be too much of an issue. The flight time isn’t very long, so you’ll need more batteries. Standard E010 batteries are pretty easy to come by. Also, the camera is exposed, which could be an issue if you crash hard. We are designing a 3D mount to help overcome this issue.

You can’t go wrong picking up an Eachine E010. It is a fun little indoor drone. If you want to test the FPV waters then the Eachine E010C is the most inexpensive way to try. The E010C is a great starter drone especially if you want to try out FPV flying. You’ll also need some FPV goggles. If you don’t know much about FPV goggles we can help there too.
