The MJX Bugs 3 Pro is another versatile quadcopter from MJX. I have always been a fan of the MJX Bugs lineup. The MJX Bugs 3 was my first brushless drone and is still one of my favorites. We are fortunate enough to have a contact at MJX and suggested they develop a similar powerful version with altitude hold and GPS. Whether or not they developed the Bugs 3 Pro because of our suggestion doesn’t really matter. This is one fun drone. With a couple of different camera options and some DIY enginouty, this is one versatile drone. We’ve tried a few different camera options with our Bugs 3 Pro and have even tried adding an aftermarket gimbal. Check it out.
The MJX Bugs 3 Pro
If you are in the market for a GPS drone for under $150 then the MJX Bugs 3 Pro is definitely one that you should take a look at it. MJX has done a nice job building quality drones that won’t break the bank.
Take a look at the MJX Bugs 3 Pro
The Bugs 3 Pro looks to be a souped-up version of the original Bugs 3. It will get more powerful 2204 1500 KV motors and GPS. That means you’ll get both more power and functionality with the Bugs 3 Pro than you would even with the Bugs 2. These motors are more powerful and efficient than the smaller Bugs 3.
MJX Bugs 3 Flight Modes
The GPS functionality of the Bugs 3 Pro will make the drone a lot more stable than the original Bugs 3. You will also get the Return to Home feature for safety in case you lose signal, have a low battery, or decide to call the quad home. It will also add an orbit mode, follow me and a waypoints function. The newly designed app is fantastic and has a DJI like feel to it.
MJX is producing three different camera options for the Bugs models. You have the option of their C4000, C5000, and C6000 cameras. All three are 8 MP HD cameras the difference being the C4000 films in 1080p, the C5000 is 720p and has built-in 5G WiFi that will work with the Bugs app, while the top-of-the-line C6000 is 1080p and has built-in WiFi that also will connect to the Bugs app. The new Bugs is also capable of carrying a GoPro, or other similar action cameras if you already have your own. We strongly recommend the 1080p Camera with WiFi. The WiFi doesn’t have the range that a DJI drone would but should still give you a couple of hundred meters before you lose signal.
The Bugs 3 Pro should give you a flight time of around 20 minutes and a range of around 500 meters. The Bugs 3 Pro is a solid drone and an excellent option for anyone looking for a good beginner, yet stable GPS quad that won’t break the bank. Flight times and range are both very dependant on the environment and flying styles, so know that your results may vary.
There are a lot of fun and versatile drones from MJX including the Bugs 3 Mini, Bugs 3 H, Bugs 3 Pro, Bugs 5W, Bugs 8 Pro and Bugs 10H. We’ve flown them all. You’ll likely be happy with whichever MJX quadcopter you choose. This MJX Bugs 3 Pro is a solid option and a good deal at only $149.99.
