Helifar B3 -An Inexpensive GPS Drone with Intelligent Flight Modes

The Helifar B3 GPS drone is an intriguing GPS option. It has a variety of different flight modes to go along with its GPS stability and 1080p camera. It is another Bugs 5W clone, much like the JJPRO X5 Epik. All of these drones are excellent options and this Helifar version comes with two batteries so you can double your flight time.

While I haven’t gotten my hands on the Helifar B3 yet I have flown the Bugs 5W and the JJPRO Epik drones. They are all built at the same factory and the differences are mostly superficial. I’ll be basing most of this review on that knowledge. Choose whichever one you think has the best styling. Personally, I really like the look of this Helifar B3.

Helifar B3 Camera

The Helifar B3 camera will shoot 1080p video. The biggest drawback is that it isn’t stabilized and you will have to fly slow and steady to get good footage. It will take crisp pictures, especially if you are flying outdoors and in good light.

The camera sits on isolation mounts to help eliminate vibrations. It also will tilt upward and downward on an active servo motor. It is not a stabilizing gimbal however so you will have to rely on your piloting skills to get smooth footage.

The GPS will hold the drone stable, even in a light wind. The return to home, follow me and orbit modes are really nice features and work quite well. The waypoints feature does also work, but it isn’t something I would recommend on a drone like this. It relies on coordinates and you’ll have to make sure you understand the scale and scope of the map before you fly.

The specs will tell you that it gets about 18 minutes of flight time. In my experience, I have averaged closer to 15 minutes. The range on a perfect day is 500 meters but expect closer to 200 meters for most applications and flight conditions. Right now you can pick up the Helifar B3 for right around $200.

What Is Our FAVORITE Drone?

The Mavic Air is great but the drone that has us excited to go fly the most right now is the Parrot Anafi. The camera and gimbal setup on this drone allow it to do things that no other drone can. Plus, having the ability to zoom in on what you are filming is priceless. Learn more about the Parrot Anafi HERE.

What Drone Is the Best VALUE?

Mavic Air vs DJI Spark
The DJI Spark is an awesome drone and at $399 is half the price of the Mavic Air.
