PITTA Drone: Is it a drone or an action camera?

The Pitta drone is an interesting concept. It is a small portable drone with a modular design that can convert between action camera and drone. Fly it for aerial footage or mount it to the handlebars of your mountain bike. You can capture epic footage in a variety of different ways.

Pitta Design

The modular design of the Pitta allows you to swap the drone motors for an action camera base. The spherical design is interesting for sure and this is a concept we’d love to see in action.

Pitta claims to be able to capture HD footage and the capabilities to follow objects. Pitta also claims to have obstacle avoidance. This palm-sized wonder is currently running a Kickstarter campaign and is looking for backers. We will check back in when Pitta is available for purchase.

Pitta or PITA?

The big promises certainly remind us of some other campaigns with lofty goals, like the Lily drone . Lily ended not in a drone but instead with a lawsuit. We hope the Pitta does better than the Lily.

We also hope that they consider changing the name of the Pitta. If it hasn’t occurred to you yet, “Pitta” immediately brings to mind “PITA,” or Pain In The Donkey. Remember the Chevy Nova? It didn’t sell so well in Spanish speaking countries. “No va” means “does not go” in Spanish.

What Is the BEST Drone?

So what is the absolute best drone out there? That question isn’t as easy to answer as you’d think. BUT…for most people the answer is the DJI Mavic Air. It is portable, has an awesome camera and excellent flight modes. Learn more about the Mavic Air HERE.

What Is Our FAVORITE Drone?

The Mavic Air is great but the drone that has us excited to go fly the most right now is the Parrot Anafi. The camera and gimbal setup on this drone allow it to do things that no other drone can.
